Robin Quinville, Director of the Wilson Center’s Global Europe Program, comments on Ursula von der Leyen’s State of the European Union speech, which focused on how the EU can remain competitive in the future. Quinville talks about the importance of maintaining a solid, skilled labor supply, continuing to tackle inflation, and reducing the amount of bureaucracy that companies face when doing business in Europe. She also discusses challenges related to China’s state subsidies in the electric vehicle market and the future possibility of expanding EU membership.
