Tlicho All-Season Road

Government of Northwest Territories. 97-km all-weather, two-land gravel road to replace the existing road to Whati. The new road will Improve access to Whati and support the development of Fortune Minerals’ proposed NICO Mine. The Government of Canada is providing 25% of the $213.8 million project cost, with the remaining funded by the GNWT and North Star, a consortium consisting of Kiewit Canada Development Corporation and the Tlicho Government, Peter Kiewit Sons ULC, Hatch Corporation, and Thurber Engineering Ltd. Construction commenced in 2019, with the road set to open in 2022.
