Skellefteå Culture Center

Sara is the name of the future culture house. The name is inspired by Sara Lidman, one of Sweden's foremost authors. In Skellefteå's development and path towards the goal of 80,000 inhabitants by 2030, the culture and hospitality industry has a given place. In the autumn of 2018, construction began on a new culture house and hotel. In the summer of 2021, the culture house is planned to be ready. Area: Approx. 25,000 sqm ’Kulturhus i Skellefteå’ is planned to be a 19-storey structure reaching a height of 76 metres. It will house the ‘Västerbottensteatern’ (the county theatre of Västerbotten), the Anna Nordlander Museum, Skellefteå’s Konsthall (art gallery), the city library and a new 16-floor four-star hotel.
