Railtest Nordic Trains Testing Center

Railtest Nordic - The planned train test business wants to be able to use the railway between Jörn and Arvidsjaur to test trains and equipment. The company Rail test nordic has therefore submitted an application to the Swedish Transport Administration for the track section to be leased to the business. The company Skanska is also prepared to invest SEK 1 billion in the project. The feasibility study has shown that the test track could be an areans in which knowledge and products can be developed in an environment that is unique in Europe. The unique features is primarily to allow for dynamic winter testing and that it will be the only test track for high speeds 250-320 km/h. The demand is high, not only in Sweden, for this type of test track. The rail Jörn - Arvidsjaur has very good natural conditions to become this unique testbed. The investment to build a test track is relatively small to build a very complete and unique testing ground.
