Posio Wind Farm

Project Description

The Posio (Saukkovaara-Mäkiaho) wind power project is located on the border of Posio and Kuusamo, about 18 kilometers northwest of the center of Kuusamo. The wind farm consists of a total of seven 200-meter-high wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 23 MW. Four of the power plants are located on the Kuusamo side and three on the Posio municipality side. The landowners of the project are private individuals. The wind farm was built in 2016 and the estimated annual production is about 80 GWh.
