New State Hospital

Project Description

The National University Hospital (NUH) was formed when several medical institutions were merged at the start of the millennium. The hospital functions are still quite dispersed around the city and for a dozen years the plan has been to aggregate all functions to one location and upgrade the facilities. Since 2010 a public corporation has been tasked with the project of commissioning new facilities based on a masterplan conceived in an architectural competition in 2012. Construction began in 2018.
